Commissions and Themed Book
Journal Entry:

I am now open to commissions. As we enter the summer, and my other commitments quieten down, I plan to be drawing as much as I can. So, to earn a little extra money, and draw things that I wouldn't normally do, I am looking to do anything that anyone is willing to pay me for (within reason...). I shall be posting examples in my gallery as and when I do them.
At the end of the summer, I am going to collect the best commissions into a book, and release it for sale (probably through Lulu, or something like that). Ideally, I'd like to organise the book into a theme. I'm open to suggestions as to what this might be, but I may just see what emerges from the commissions. So, please bear this in mind when commissioning. Also, if you do want your commission included (or would like it to be considered), then bear in mind that it should not involve copyrighted characters (e.g. Superman, Batman, etc. - I can still do them, I just can't publish them). However, just because something has been published, doesn't mean that it's still copyrighted (so, pictures of Lewis Carroll's Alice character, or something from the Wizard of Oz, are all fine, because their copyright has expired). If in doubt, contact me to run it by me.
Here is a basic price guide (single character/subject with no or little background, A3 size, postage extra):
* Pencil - £20
* Ink - £40
For digital only commissions (i.e. you just want to get a hi-res scan of the pic, or see it in my/your gallery), halve the price. For more involved commissions, involving more than one character and/or more detailed background, contact me to discuss.
Also, I'm new to this, so prices may fluctuate depending on demand (but obviously, I won't up the fee midway through a commission!). Basically, I just want to be busy and to earn a little pocket money whilst improving my skills. Feel free to contact me to negotiate. Payment via PayPal, cash, cheque, chickens, old DVDs, back massage, or other barterable goods.
NOTE: By paying for the art, in whatever form, you do not own rights to it. If you want to use it for some specific purpose (such as magazine illustration), then this needs to be agreed beforehand. Also, if you want to use my work for publication, then my rates will be higher (so this isn't a cheap way of getting illustrations!).
And off we go!
